EQUINE

TRAINING

What is Equine training?

Horse training refers to the practices that teach horses to perform certain behaviors when commanded so by Humans. Equine training refers to the practices to train racehorses.
Racehorse training starts at an exceptionally early age between 18 months to 20 months. Training starts at such an early age because the younger the horse starts, the sooner it can be determined if it can make it to the race track or not.
Horses are generally trained on mechanical horse walkers which is capable of exercising multiple horses on a small circular track. They are also trained on the open field.

Some of top winning horses are trained in Simulated Altitude.

EQUINE ALTITUDE

TRAINING

Like how humans train at altitude, horses also can train at altitude and the results are similar. Taking your horse to a high altitude and training them can be a bit of a challenge to most of the horse owners. What we as altitude experts do is bring Altitude training to the training chamber in the form of simulation.
The Altitude simulation system enables the horses to do their threshold work on the treadmill at altitude. This challenges their cardio vascular capacity by making them work at relatively low speeds.
This method is carried out by our unique hypoxic generators. Here fresh, clean air is brought in with some oxygen removed based on the altitude settings. In this manner, Altitude conditions can be brought to any place in the world.
With our simulated altitude equipment, the stables can also be set altitude conditions that are along side the training chamber. Simulated Altitude training requires the horse’s body to make certain physiological adaptations just as in athletes. With time, it increases aerobic power and endurance which reflects the true genetic potential of a horse. There is significantly a drop in the possibility of an injury after an intensive training session. The recovery is much more efficient and faster when compared to traditional methods.

Benefits of adopting Equine Altitude Training for your horses

  • Increases aerobic power and endurance.

  • Faster and much more efficient recovery after intensive training.

  • Possibility of injuries is highly reduced.

  • Reduces the no. of training sessions.

  • Acclimatization of horses for air travel.

  • Enhanced effects on fertility.

There is growing evidence that altitude exposure to horses has had beneficial effects for horses suffering from the plague and race bleeding. Altipeak™ International has developed breakthrough Equine Simulated Altitude training systems that makes the horse feel comfortable and safe.

How can you train a horse?

The most important aspect of training your horse is to choose the right trainer. The trainer is ultimately responsible for caring for your horse and it is therefore important that you trust in his/her decision and advice. We’d suggest that you make a short list of horse trainers and contact them to visit their yard.
